Openings for specific classified and unclassified positions are announced as they become available. Applications for some positions such as teacher, paraeducator and Residential Advisor are accepted on a continuous basis.

LSD offers an excellent benefits package including defined benefit state retirement plans as well as supplemental plans, health and life insurance, ample vacation and sick leave. Training opportunities through the state Comprehensive Training Program are continually available to LSD employees.

Appropriate state certification and Highly Qualified credentials are required for teaching positions. Certification in Deaf Education and sign communication proficiency are beneficial. A tuition waiver program is available to teachers who need additional college credits. In-house sign language classes are available to all LSD employees.
