Business & Operations

In business terms, our school is a very large operation. LSD serves its students 24 hours a day, at least five days a week, for nearly the entire calendar year. The campus is huge - 122 acres - with 22 major buildings, several playgrounds, miles of paved areas, acres of grounds to keep, and tens of thousands of square feet of air conditioned, roofed, wired and plumbed space. There are cars, vans, buses and utility carts to keep in running condition. There are scoreboards, SmartBoards, dry erase boards, chalk boards and bulletin boards to maintain. There are classrooms, dorm rooms, meeting rooms, media rooms, locker rooms, bathrooms and offices. The list could go on for a long time!

The LSD Business Division and Operations Department employees do the work which keeps our facilities running smoothly. They take care of purchasing equipment and supplies, feeding our students and staff, and the upkeep of equipment, vehicles, buildings and grounds. They plan and implement our school's budget and pay all of the bills so that instructional and support staff can pay attention to our students and their needs. We are fortunate indeed to have such a dedicated and hard-working staff in Operations and in our Business Division.
