Free Webinar for Parents

The Laurent Clerc National Deaf Education Center at Gallaudet University will be offering a two-part webinar for parents of young deaf or hard of hearing children.  Everything You Always Wanted to Know About ASL/English Bilingual Bimodal Education will be presented in two parts:

  • Part 1:  January 12 at 6:00-7:00 pm
    • Will provide an overview of ASL/English Bilingual Early Childhood Education and the research supporting its positive impact on ASL and spoken language acqusition.
       
  • Part 2:  February 9 at 6:00-7:00 pm
    • Will discuss how families can support their child's successful bilingual bimodal development.

These webinars will be presented by Susanne Scott, cochlear implant bilingual specialist at the Clerc Center, and Dr. Laurene Simms, professor of education at Gallaudet University.
