The Outreach Department at LSD offers services all throughout Louisiana through two different pathways: early intervention services (birth to 5), and K-12 support.

Early intervention services are available for free to families with deaf and hard of hearing children from birth up to age 5 or school entry, whichever occurs first. This program offers parent education and support regarding their child’s: language development, communication opportunities, amplification devices, services in the region, and transition into school. To refer a student, please use the intake form.
K-12 support services are available to school districts, LEAs, and educational professionals serving deaf and hard of hearing children. Consultations are available to provide support regarding students’ IEPs, accessibility in the classroom environment, and to the curriculum, language development, and more. To request a consult or visit, please use the form available here.
